I pronounce my last name like "favor". But the name has a French origin. It may have come from Faivre.
In 2006 I became interested in genealogy and began to study it with my dad. I visited a tiny village of my ancestors, Recouvrance, France, and was pleased to discover that dance plays a role in its cultural identity.
I know I have strong roots from France, Poland, Ireland, and England. I believe I also have some ancestors from Switzerland who lived near the French border.
My middle name, Kenneth, is after my father and his father, Kenneth E. Faiver.
My other grandfather, Robert L. Sargeant, was a professional musician, entertainer, and music teacher. His aunt, Francis Jessie Gibson Sargeant (1891-1942) was associated with (possibly the founder of) the Wilde Conservatory of Music, Lansing, MI.
